Queensland-based Humboldtians and their families gathered at the Brisbane German Club in Woollangabba on Tuesday 15th September 2015 in celebration of the birthdate of Alexander von Humboldt. The Brisbane German Club, established in 1883, has become a regular venue for Queensland-based Humboldtians to enjoy catching up over a cold German beer and delicious German meal. This year 15 Humboldtians and their families attended the annual dinner, and discussed diverse topics such as the upcoming biennial meeting in Hobart, the impact of technology on child learning and engagement, and the feasibility of mining minerals in outer space! The night was a great way for Queensland Humboldtians to catch up and celebrate their common experiences as members of the Humboldt family.
