We are pleased to announce that registrations for the 19th Biennial Conference of the Australian and New Zealand Associations of von Humboldt Fellows are now open. Early Bird Registration discounts will be available until Friday 14 October. Our conference theme is “Humboldtian Research towards a Sustainable World”.
Please visit the conference website for information regarding the venue, location, accommodation, program (as it will become available) and to process your registrations online.
Key Conference Dates:
- Registrations Open – Friday 2 September 2022
- Speaker Abstract Submission Deadline – Friday 23 September 2022
- Abstract Outcome Notifications – Friday 7 October 2022
- Early Bird Registration Deadline – Friday 14 October 2022
If you are interested to present research relevant to the meeting’s theme at the Conference, we ask that you submit an abstract of (maximum) 300 words, for consideration for inclusion in the program. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed and presenters will be notified of the outcome by 7 October 2022.
Along with your abstract, we ask you to submit the following information to aavhf@deakin.edu.au by Friday 23 September:
- Confirmed presentation title
- Maximum 300-word abstract
- Author’s name/s with affiliations and titles and with the actual Presenter’s name underlined
- Preference of presentation type (oral, physical poster, virtual poster or all)
Please note that accepted speakers are required to register to attend the conference via the website above.
There will also be an invitation to submit a manuscript following your presentation for peer-review and potential publication in a special issue of the Proceedings of The Royal Society of Victoria. All details concerning this option, as well as the deadline for manuscript submission, will be advertised during the Conference.
Also, following the success of a Humboldt Kolleg Application to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to support this Conference, there will be some financial support provided to registrants. The amount of financial support will not be known until after the conclusion of the conference. Reimbursement traditionally takes the form of a % of standard economy airfare from your home city and a fixed amount for 2 nights accommodation. Further details will be provided during the Conference.
For those of you who returned the “Expression of Interest” form earlier this year, you will also receive notice from the EoI list which was created at Deakin University. My apologies for such duplicate email but please understand that I prefer not to delete emails of our Association members from my Group List.
We look forward to seeing you in November.
